If you weren't aware that this version of "Shallow Tears" from Light Asylum was a remix, you might just think it's a new SALEM song. There's not much that's recognizable from the original version, but that doesn't take away from it's greatness. Shannon Funchess' voice is pitch shifted, echoed and stuttered all over the place creating a wobbly, foggy, and spooky new tune. SALEM's signatures are all over this, so it's more like a new SALEM track that features a loose and warped Light Asylum sample, but either way, I'm feeling it.
