There are a lot of things I waste money on. Beer, sparkling water, coconut water, fruit smoothies (I'm a fan of drinks, what can I say?) but there's one thing I've spent money on recently that is definitely NOT a waste. That thing is the Kickstarter campaign for Punk Start My Heart records. These folks are filling a very necessary void and as one of my friends said, "What if Punk Start My Heart becomes the next Chainsaw?" Yeah, what if. We NEED Punk Start My Heart, just like we needed Chainsaw. So read the little blurb and watch the video below and DONATE!!!!
About Punk Start My Heart:
In the summer of 2010, out of a collective need to create safer spaces for shows, we started a small feminist booking service for women, people of color, and queer identified musicians called Punk Start My Heart. Almost immediately, emails started flooding in from bands and other collectives from all over the country. It was like everyone had the same idea at the same time. It was really amazing.
Punk Start My Heart continues to be a feminist booking collective, but has branched out to include a record label to showcase the wonderful creativity coming out of our community. But alas, this shit is expensive! Isn’t money always the thing? In an effort to continue paying rent, we started a Kickstarter page in the hopes of raising some money to help us with our first releases!
Punk Start My Heart were nice enough to send over some tracks to share, so enjoy them! And go donate some cash for this great project!!
