There are some things that will never change. I will always wish I was a little bit taller, I will always prefer the Crayola bold markers over the classic colors and I will always love Sleater Kinney. My heart broke a little bit when they went on an indefinite hiatus in 2006. That said, you could imagine my excitement when I checked out Tiny Mix Tapes this morning to find that Carrie Brownstein had mentioned a possible S/K reunion in a recent interview!
So...she didn't say that they were definitely reuniting, but she did say: "Well, Janet, Corin and I are still great friends. And we will probably do something. It's so intense, that band" which is more of a confirmation than we've gotten in the past. Although she didn't confirm a Sleater Kinney reunion, she did confirm that she's working on new music in a new four-piece band that once again features Janet Weiss on drums. She mentioned in the interview that they are based in Portland, although all of the members do not live there, and they have written 7 songs so far. So even if we can't look forward to new Sleater Kinney anytime soon, this is something to be excited about for sure!
If you want to hear about the feature film Carrie Brownstein just premiered at SXSW and more about S/K, ThunderAnt and more over here.
While we anxiously await more news on Carrie's new project and a Sleater Kinney reunion, check out some classics!
